My name is Angie. I am 43 years old. I have been married and divorced twice. I have 5 children; 4 boys and 1 girl. Their ages are 23, 21, 16, 11 and 6. As you can imagine being a single mother my life pretty much is kids, kids, kids. I am very devoted to my kids but I have found I have lost my own identity lately. I would like to change that. I also am not a shallow or superficial person and I would like my mate to be the same way. I believe there is so much more to a person than what is on the outside. I think its very true that you can tell a lot by a person by who they choose the surround themselves with. Therefor I would very literally take a bullet for my friends because I know they would do the same for me.

I used to do a bunch of drugs in the past, coke, heroin, ecstasy, lcd, marijuana, pills, and so on, however I quit all that, and will never do it again, but I do drink alcohol, and smoke cigarettes.

After living in Denver for five years as a freelance audio mixer, shooter, and editor for national cable programs and networks I moved back to Illinois to be close to my father during his illness.

I'm not the typical alpha male, and am most certainly a bit askew from the typical man's man. I not a huge fan of sports, though I've been at the World Series, on the field for NFL games, and in locker rooms for the NBA. My work in the media has afforded me some interesting experiences, and for the last four years I've not had a "real" job. Frankly, I think I would go a bit mad having a 9 to 5 job at this point in my life, but then again I'd do that if it meant having to pay the bills.

Even though I've work in television, I don't watch much of it, and I'm not one to revel in pop culture or reality television. I'm a coffee snob as well, and you'll not get me to drink a Starbucks. I'd rather support local roasters, and baristas that actually care about making a good coffee and espresso.

For the last couple years I've been extremely busy with work, so meeting new people is challenging to say the least.. Now that I have time to myself, the search is on! Not into the bar scene, especially in the Rockford area, I'll go on occassion, but that's about it. I know that our options are limited for activities in Rockford, creativity is key! There are several places to catch live theater, or comedy night, different museums.. I actually like living around here though, we are central to Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee and the Mississippi River, so within an hour, there is always something to do. Catch a Cubs, or Brewers Game, Riverboats on the Miss, Michigan Ave for some shopping anyone ?

Nothing beats a challenging conversation. I have the ability to carry on an intelligent conversation.. Someone who can make me think a little is always a plus !

I'm really in to music, pretty much any genre, as long as it's good music.. I sing all the time, and if I do say so myself, im pretty damn good. I'm the guy you see at target, walking around signing away, without a care in the world. Like to fish but only catch snags, love camping. Have an associate degree in computer networking which is doing me no good, please hire me as your secretary. Like real people because I'm one. Love to write and don't want to grow up. Love life even though it has been pretty snotty to me lately. That's me.

So what would you want to know about me?

You must wonder. How is this person different from the rest? Or you may wonder. Does he have the stability and character that I would want?

So how do I tell you in a convincing way, that to know me is to know someone special? Or conversely, how do I know that you have that special character and personality which will result in a romantic relationship that is beyond the ordinary?

Well here is the best way I can tell you.

I can laugh at myself. Yes, I can be very serious about things that matter. But life's ironies are amusing. And laughter can be the best medicine as long as it is kind and respectful.

I am dependable. I have achieved numerous awards in my profession. I have friends with whom I have been close to for 38 years. My life is stable and comfortable, financially and emotionally. I have never used any illegal drugs or misused any legal ones. You would never have to wonder where I am or what I am doing as I would tell you. My word would be my honor.

I know how to treat a woman. That means I respect and value differences. I work to understand what is said as well as what is meant. I believe that that being in love is a daily thing and that romance is a fire that needs to be fed. I value the touch?not just holding hands but connecting through the fingers to the heart. In the end it is that soft and endearing look of one's eyes into the eyes of one you love that tells it all.

I respect and value life. I have a Chow named Star that I got from the Chow rescue people in Minneapolis. I support charities that help people and animals in need. I love my deck where I can see the wild flowers that we have cultivated on my property. I wake up every day and appreciate the rain or the sunshine?not so much the snow.

So what would we do? Well there would be art fairs, galleries, and museums. There would be romantic comedies and drama. There would be dinners I cook and wine in front of the fireplace. There would be an intimate sharing of one's day. There would be friends and family. As my parents are deceased and I have no siblings, I would love to make your family mine. I like to do interior decorating, and no, I am not gay. We would travel. We would go out for Jazz, 50s and 60s music, and a symphony on occasion. Or we might play Scrabble in the park. We would maybe exercise together. And we would seek out ideas for healthy living.

I'm very empathic, which makes me perfect for my chosen vocation. I give to friendships and relationships, sometimes a little TOO much, which is why discovering my helping-people limits during college was a difficult but much-needed process. I am VERY enamored of reading, especially sci-fi and fantasy (but I love lots of other stuff too, from ), and of learning in general. I play French Horn (WAY out of practice) and Mellophone (marching band), and sing soprano. I am a bit into kink in a sweetly disconcerting manner (message me for my vital stats in that area). I love life and live it exhuberantly. I am almost incapable of being depressed for long periods of time.
That being said, I MISS NEW ENGLAND! *snufflesnuffle* I'm from upstate New York (Rochester), went to Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and then did Organic Chemistry one summer at Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

I am many things, too many to describe but first and foremost I'm the mother of two great kids. If this bothers you, then I am relieved that I didn't waste my time going into detail about who the real "me" is. I am generally a true-to-self, compassionate person. A little on the quiet side at first, but I have a great personality and sense of humor once you get to know me. I'm not looking for someone who wants to change me or who wants to change for me.
I donâ??t need a lot of things; itâ??s all just stuff. Donâ??t get me wrong, I enjoy some of that stuff, but, it doesn't define who I am and if it all went away I would still be me. The only thing I need to be happy are my boys. I have had my share of hurdles to overcome lately, regardless, I don't let things bother me and I never stay mad. You can't change what's happened and once it's over it is in the past. There is no reason to worry about something you can't change or be hung up on the past. Life is a state of mind and it's all good for me.
I like being outdoors. I camp, fish, hunt, boat, hike, and ride horses. Iâ??d like to try rock climbing and maybe start scuba diving again this summer. I love anything that I do with my boys, whether it's playing catch, wrestling, or tickling them until they can't stand it. I like most music except for rap. Iâ??m most comfortable in blue jeans and a t-shirt, but can dress up if needed. I love my job. I get to work with people and travel around the country.

I rock at what I do(not trying to be arrogent, I get told this often). I just moved o Rockford and need a little help finding things to do. I like to be active by going golfing playing tennis, rollerblading, biking. I would love to try snowboarding. All these thing are super fun but they would be better if I could share the fun with someone.

I am a 27 year old female, graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Family Services. I am very much family oriented. Would really like a relationship but really want a good guy who cares about me, has a job and supports himself at the very least, and lives close enough to come and see me. Update again: Now it's hot and sunny, and I am a happy girl. I still have a car, and may soon have a new job (or two). I have two parents living in the same country again, for the first time in six years.

Things people should know:

I have an unfortunate affinity for good red wine. Unfortunate because I am a wine-smashed-kinda-girl. But I'm fun :p

I tend to set my search preferences to single male, not because I'm looking for sex, but because 1)I've been accused of 'flirting with my boyfriend' too many times for it to be funny any more (and I'm not doing it, dammit!) 2)I don't like people who are shallow, and despite believing men and women have as much potential as each other, in my (maybe limited but I don't think so) experience women tend to be more infatuated with nothing but looks/gossip/bitching. I do like a good gossip, and a good bitch, but it's soooo much more interesting if you actually KNOW personally the people you're gossiping about. Hence I find myself searching for single men.

In the summer time, you can catch me working in the garage on one of my vehicles, in the garden, camping or several other outdoor activities on most days. In the winter time, I try to keep busy with projects in the house or in the garage if it isn't too cold. I work a lot, on average I'm working about 50-55 hours a week. I enjoy my work. I do like to go see a movie on occasion or out to eat. I like to go out with my friends on the weekend if I'm not working the next morning.

Im not one to talk about myself or talk myself up. I'm a very outgoing and very animated person who loves witty comebacks and comments. Above all else, im blunt and very honest. I'm into photography, I played guitar for some odd years and got bored with it, sold all my stuff and bought a Nikon D60 DSLR and enjoy every picture with it. It's a very relaxing hobby and really makes you look at things differently. Instead of oh a leaf it's oh how could I compose a shot of that leaf to tell a story.

I'm into computers, I fix em, I build em and boy do I enjoy playing games on em. I am geek, I love technology and I follow it on a day to day basis. I eventually will get into school for IT, but more just working on peoples computers so they don't have to deal with Geek Squad.

I'm sure guys say this a lot but I'm one of the few that means it. I was raised by my mom, I was raised with respect and I believe I turned out how most guys should be. I'm very old fashioned, I open doors for ladies, I let them order first and I strongly believe in equality and none of this who wears the pants in the house crap, nor could I live like that, a relationship is a give/give situation, you have to give as much as you get, there is no letting 1 person do all the work. I'm a helpless romantic, I love cuddling and there's nothing better than being in love and waking up next to the person and giving her good morning pecks. I'm also extremely affectionate and need it as much in return.

I'll take a night in snacking and watching a movie with my love over going out any day of the night, something about bedging out on a couch cozied up in a warm blanket watching some B movie romance comedy or something just doesn't compare to anything else.

I need family, I love family, family get togethers probably rank in the highest of awesomeness and I hope who ever im with feels the same way. I've never in my life met parents that didn't like me and I hope I never see the day that it happens.

I love kids, their a blast, I used to be one (still am somtimes :P ) so I know how much fun they can be, it's fun to be a role model or having a kid mimic what you like cause they think your cool. I want kids and by god one of them better be a daughter, and ill pulverize any guy she brings home :P

I believe strongly that any personality can mix well as long as the couple gets along good. I like the mixing personalities cause it adds more flavor to a relationship and you can learn quite a bit more about yourself, maybe an activity you never knew you liked. It's how I got into camping and wanting to do it as often as my cash flow allows me.

I love tattoo's and I love piercings if done stylish and not "oh cause it's so cuuuuute" or the pretty unicorn off the wall. Tattoo's should express a story or a thought in ones life, if it has meaning to you then there will never be a day you regret it.

I've got the 3 piercings in my lip and I have a 14 and 10 gauge in each ear (currently missing). I'm full of tattoos and im damn proud of them. I love art, and expressing my ideas and thoughts through tattoo's I believe is a great way of expression. I have my upper back covered a half sleeve on the right arm and a tattoo on my chest that sucks so bad that I leave it there so I can tell the funny story of it.

I'm a senior student at Northern Illinois University, living in DeKalb but originally from Rockford. I'm looking forward to wrapping up my last year of school to move on to bigger and better things.
